If You Love for Beauty
Too many frozens and CAT scans, a midget
with a giant income, microscope-computer
throne...
“But I’m oldifying.,,”
“Getting old!”
“Mein Stern.”
“My star!”
“Das Veilchen.”
“The violet!”
Retiring into einsamkeit (loneliness)
“Some day they’ll discover immortality.”
“But......”
Remembering how they’d get face to face (at
some distance) and then just fire and see who
killed the most...Russia needing a sea-port
(Leningrad), every night the parking lot at
the local love-mosque filled, filled, filled.
BORDEL 1906*
Smoking what they smoke, going back to Bordel
Time in Buenos Aires remembering the guitars and
singers, talker-singers, seductoras eternas / eternal
seductresses, rule-books and bibles, out the windows,
back to some kind of Herculean-Andorran God-Sun,
Mother Leg-Spread Earth, drink that red and chew
that dust, it goes, but we never noticed until the
last few moments before it went.
BIO
Fox was raised in Chicago during the thirties by a frustrated actress mother and a frustrated former-violinist-turned-M.D. father, totally soaked in violin (from age 5), piano, music composition (his violin teacher was P. Marinus Paulson, the composer), then got involved with Zerlina Mulhman Metzger, a Viennese opera teacher and joined the All Children's Grand Opera Group which put on its own productions and sang the children's choruses when the Metropolitan Opera came to Chicago.....as an adult Fox simply kept on the same track, got a Ph.D. in American Lit, taught writing, literature and film for almost 50 years, married first a Peruvian, then a Brazilian, became Latinized/Portugues-ized, got interested in archaeology, had 4 books published on Pre-Columbian archaeology. 110 books altogether, the latest THE COMPLETE POETRY OF HUGH FOX, 540 pages, published by World Audience in NYC.
